Offering Professional Agility Tuition
Catering to "Just for Fun" and/or Competition goals.
We are delighted to announce that the construction of our agility equipment has now been copleted and that Instruction Classes are scheduled to commence on Sunday, 18th July, 2010. Each class will run for approximately 45 minutes.
Scheduled training dates :
Beginners A is scheduled to commence Sunday 18th July, 2010 and conclude on Sunday 8th August, 2010. Class Start time : 12 noon.
Beginners B is scheduled to commence Sunday 22nd August and conclude on Sunday 19th September, 2010. Class Start time : 1pm.
Note : No training on Fathers' Day 5th September, 2010
Beginners C is scheduled to commence Tuesday 28th September, 2010 and conclude on Tuesday 19th October, 2010. Class Start time : 7.00pm.
Note : Tuesday evening classes are held under lights. An excellent opportunity to condition your dog to work under night-time conditions.
Please note that the training dates scheduled may vary. Agility classes will not be run in the event of inclement weather that is determined to render the agility equipment unsafe for use at the time. We trust you appreciate that weather conditions are outside of our control and that for the safety of the dogs, Pro-K9 reserves the right to adjust the training dates as necessary.
Venue :
Pro-K9 Training Grounds are located at All Breeds Boarding Kennels & Cattery, 325 Westernport Highway (Dandenong-Hastings Road), Lyndhurst in Melbourne, Victoria (Australia). These privately owned grounds are located on the left, 3klms north-bound from KCC Park or 1.5klms north-bound from Thompsons Road round-a-bout.
Membership options
Membership Option 1 "Just for Fun" (Beginners A & B) : 8 x Weekly (2 month) membership
Suitable for all dog ages.
Beginners A introduces the team to about half of the equipment likely to be found doing agility, all at a very basic and safe level for any dog to do. Some of the handling skills are introduced, along with quite a bit of the foundation skills that will assist the dog and handler team, no matter what level of achievement the team wishes to accomplish in agility, or even in other team-work applications. Homework exercises are given out for anyone wishing to practice some of these skills at home.
Beginners B introduces the rest of the equipment found in agility, again at a basic and safe level for any dog to do. More handling skills are introduced such that the team-work between handler and dog can be strengthened even further. A few more foundation skills along with homework, for those who wish to do more.
Completing Beginners A and B will give the dog and handler team all the basics necessary to have fun participating in the sport of agility at a fun level.
The overall course (A & B) has been designed to introduce dogs (of any age) and their handlers to all of the agility equipment and the handling skills required to navigate a course, and in a safe and friendly environment.
Membership Option 2 "For Fun AND/OR Competition" (Beginners A, B & C) : 12 x Weekly (3 month) membership
Suitable for dogs 12 months of age or older with some off lead handling skills developing.

Membership Option 3 "Add On" : (Beginners C) : 4 x Weekly (1 month) membership
Suitable for dogs 12 months of age or older with some off lead handling skills developing.
For those who choose Membership Option 1 and wish the flexibility of adding Beginners C at some other stage.
Beginners C takes the team to the next level of agility training by introducing all the equipment at full competition height, along with the last of the basic handling skills and some of the slightly more advanced skills. Beginners C is a must for those who would like to enjoy the agility sport at a competitive level later on, or for those who are simply enjoying the activity and for the increased skills it teaches and wish to continue.
More advanced agility training levels will be added and announced at a later date.

Vaccination requirements : Current level C3 (minimum). Positive Titre Test report will be accepted in lieu of Vaccination Certificate.
Completion of the Foundation Level Obedience Class Course is a prerequisite to joining our Agility groups however some prior learning experience may be taken into account.
Our next Foundation Level Class Course (suitable for dogs of any age upwards of 16 weeks) is scheduled to begin 1st August 2010 however due to strong interest, the commencement date may be scheduled earlier.
